Catastrophic Bleeding & Bleed Kit Awareness

Recognise. Respond. Control the Bleed.

Course Overview

Catastrophic Bleeding & Bleed Kit Awareness provides practical training in the immediate management of severe and life-threatening bleeding. Participants explore a structured approach to bleeding control, progressing from direct pressure through to wound packing and the appropriate use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings.

The session includes practical familiarisation with bleed-kit equipment and realistic skills-based scenarios, helping participants understand not only what equipment is available, but when and how it may be used.

Course Aim

The aim of this session is to give participants the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to recognise catastrophic bleeding, summon emergency assistance and take appropriate action to control life-threatening blood loss until professional medical help arrives.
